The amendments are mandatory, with earlier application permitted. While application is retrospective, an entity is not required to restate prior periods. Annual Improvements - 2018-2020 Cycle In July 2020, the POA issued Annual Improvements to TFRS Standards 2018-2020 Cycle, amending the followings: - TFRS 1 First-time Adoption of International Financial Reporting Standards - Subsidiary as a first-time adopter: The amendment permits a subsidiary to measure cumulative translation differences using the amounts reported by the parent. The amendment is also applied to an associate or joint venture. - TFRS 9 Financial Instruments - Fees in the “10 per cent test” for derecognition of financial liabilities: The amendment clarifies the fees that an entity includes when assessing whether the terms of a new or modified financial liability are substantially different from the terms of the original financial liability. These fees include only those paid or received between the borrower and the lender, including fees paid or received by either borrower or lender on the other’s behalf. - TAS 41 Agriculture - Taxation in fair value measurements: The amendment removes the requirement in paragraph 22 of TAS 41 that entities exclude cash flows for taxation when measuring fair value of assets within the scope of TAS 41. Improvements are effective for annual reporting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2022. Earlier application is permitted for all. The Group is in the process of assessing the impact of the standard on financial position or performance of the Group. 3 Significant accounting estimates and requirements The notes given in this section are provided to addition/supplement the commentary on the management of insurance risk note 4.1 - Management of insurance risk and note 4.2 - Financial risk management. The preparation of consolidated financial statements requires management to make judgments, estimates and assumptions that affect the application of accounting policies and the reported amounts of assets, liabilities, income and expenses. Actual results may differ from these estimates. Estimates and underlying assumptions are reviewed on an ongoing basis. Revisions to accounting estimates are recognized in the period in which the estimate is revised and in any future periods affected.
