MILLIRE 2021 ANNUAL REPORT
NOTES TO THE CONSOLIDATED FINANCIAL STATEMENTS AS OF DECEMBER 31, 2021 Millî Reasürans Türk Anonim Şirketi (Convenience Translation of Financial Statements and Related Disclosures and Footnotes Originally Issued in Turkish, See Note 2.1.1) (Currency: Turkish Lira (TL)) Interest income and expenses Interest income and expense are recognized using the effective interest method. The effective interest rate is the rate that exactly discounts the estimated future cash payments and receipts through the expected life of the financial asset or liability (or, where appropriate, a shorter period) to the carrying amount of the financial asset or liability. The effective interest rate is established on initial recognition of the financial asset and liability and is not revised subsequently. The calculation of the effective interest rate includes all fees and points paid or received transaction costs, and discounts or premiums that are an integral part of the effective interest rate. Transaction costs are incremental costs that are directly attributable to the acquisition, issue or disposal of a financial asset or liability except for the financial assets at fair value through profit or loss. Trading income/expense Trading income/expense includes gains and losses arising from disposals of financial assets held for trading purpose and available-for- sale financial assets. Trading income and trading expenses are recognized as “Income from disposal of financial assets” and “Loss from disposal of financial assets” in the accompanying consolidated financial statements. Dividends Dividend income is recognized when the Group’s right to receive payment is ascertained. 2.22 Leasing transactions Tangible assets acquired by way of finance leasing are recognised in tangible assets and the obligations under finance leases arising from the lease contracts are presented under finance lease payables account in the financial statements. In the determination of the related assets and liabilities, the lower of the fair value of the leased asset and the present value of leasing payments is considered. Financial costs of leasing agreements are expanded in lease periods at a fixed interest rate. If there is impairment in the value of the assets obtained through financial lease and in the expected future benefits, the leased assets are valued with net realisable value. Depreciation for assets obtained through financial lease is calculated in the same manner as tangible assets. Right-of-use assets The Company recognises right-of-use assets at the commencement date of the lease (i.e., the date the underlying asset is available for use). Right-of-use assets are measured at cost, less any accumulated depreciation and impairment losses, and adjusted for any remeasurement of lease liabilities. The cost of the right-of-use asset includes: (a) initial direct costs incurred, (b) lease payments made at or before the commencement date less any lease incentives received, and (c) All initial costs incurred by the company. Unless the Company is reasonably certain to obtain ownership of the leased asset at the end of the lease term, the recognised right-of- use assets are depreciated on a straight-line basis over the shorter of its estimated useful life and the lease term. Right-of-use assets are subject to impairment. Right-of-use assets are subject to impairment. 197 MİLLÎ REASÜRANS ANNUAL REPORT 2021 FINANCIAL STATUS RISKS AND ASSESSMENT OF THE GOVERNING BODY UNCONSOLIDATED FINANCIAL STATEMENTS TOGETHER WITH INDEPENDENT AUDITORS’ REPORT THEREON CONSOLIDATED FINANCIAL STATEMENTS TOGETHER WITH INDEPENDENT AUDITORS’ REPORT THEREON
