Milli Re 2025 Annual Report

Equity Shares which are classified as available-for-sale financial assets in an active market (stock exchange) are reflected to the consolidated financial statements with their fair values by taking into consideration the registered prices in the active market. Shares that are not traded in an active market are followed at acquisition costs and are shown in the consolidated financial statements at their cost value after the provision for impairment losses, if any. Subsidiaries are the entities that the Company has the power to govern the financial and operating policies of those so as to obtain benefits from its activities. The Company prepares its individual financial statements and accounts for its investments in subsidiaries and associates using the equity method defined in ‘TAS 27 - Consolidated and Separate Financial Statements Standard’. 2.9 Impairment on assets Impairment on financial assets Financial assets or group of financial assets are reviewed at each balance sheet date to determine whether there is objective evidence of impairment. If any such indication exists, the Company estimates the amount of impairment. Impairment loss incurs if, and only if, there is objective evidence that the expected future cash flows of financial asset or group of financial assets are adversely affected by an event(s) (“loss event(s)”) incurred subsequent to recognition. The losses expected to incur due to future events are not recognized even if the probability of loss is high. Loans and receivables are presented net of specific allowances for uncollectibility. Specific allowances are made against the carrying amounts of loans and receivables that are identified as being impaired based on regular reviews of outstanding balances to reduce these loans and receivable to their recoverable amounts. The recoverable amount of an equity instrument is its fair value. The recoverable amount of debt instruments and purchased loans measured to fair value is calculated as the present value of the expected future cash flows discounted at the current market rate of interest. An impairment loss is reversed if the reversal can be related objectively to an event occurring after the impairment loss was recognized. For financial assets measured at amortized cost and available-for-sale financial assets that are debt securities, the reversal is recognized in the statement of income. For available-for-sale financial assets that are equity securities, the reversal is recognized directly in equity. Impairment on tangible and intangible assets On each balance sheet date, the Company evaluates whether there is an indication of impairment of fixed assets. If there is an objective evidence of impairment, the asset’s recoverable amount is estimated in accordance with the “TAS 36 - Impairment of Assets” and if the recoverable amount is less than the carrying value of the related asset, a provision for impairment loss is made. Rediscount and provision expenses of the year are detailed in Note 47 . 133 Notes to the Unconsolidated Financial Statements As of December 31, 2025 Millî Reasürans Türk Anonim Şirketi GENERAL INFORMATION FINANCIAL RIGHTS PROVIDED TO THE MEMBERS OF THE GOVERNING BODY AND SENIOR EXECUTIVES RISKS AND ASSESSMENT OF THE GOVERNING BODY ACTIVITIES AND MAJOR DEVELOPMENTS RELATED TO ACTIVITIES RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES FINANCIAL STATUS FINANCIAL INFORMATION (Currency: Turkish Lira (TRY)) (Convenience Translation of Financial Statements and Related Disclosures and Footnotes Originally Issued in Turkish)
